![]() David has 0 personality, especially for someone who’s supposed to be SO captivating, and Adele was just as bland as Louise. All of her relationships are odd and seem unusual, I found myself questioning her interactions with her son, when he went on vacation she completely forgot he existed. She never learns from anything and keep making the same stupid choices. Louise has no redeeming qualities, all her choices just left me annoyed and rolling my eyes. Half way through I was just annoyed and wanted it to be over already. This book was such a drag, I really regret wasting a credit on this… It was SO slow starting out and I kept waiting for something to captivate my interest but it never happened. I just I can't even.good luck to you on this one guys! Sooo disappointed in this one!!Īn outlandish story doesn't make it a good one I was so disgusted, I could barely listen to the last half. But the book goes into lucid dreaming and becomes absolutely preposterous! And the nice Louise character turns into the most bumbling character ever. I won't bore you with the details or give spoiler alerts to those of you who choose to use a credit on this novel. And if that isn't bad enough he is married! And if THAT isn't bad enough she becomes friends with his wife! So all this was very interesting and intriguing until all of a sudden the story veers off into The twilight zone. They kiss and sparks fly until she meets her new boss the next morning and it just happens to be her new love interest. I prefer thriller/suspense genre books and this book did the ol switcheroo into sci fi! This book is about a nice lady named Louise who meets a dashing young David at a bar. I enjoyed the first of this book or believe me it would have been returned. Oh man, what a load of crap! I cannot believe I wasted 12 hours of my life on this nonsense. ![]() Overall, I loved it and highly recommend! I felt that the end was not disconnected at all from the story, and would encourage readers to not let it keep you from experiencing this engaging and wholly entertaining story. I for one didn't see it coming at all, and was pleasantly riveted once I got it. As for the ending, I was not appalled at all, as some reviewers. Each person contributes to his and her situation in his own way. There was something to like and to dislike about each character, so the common bad guy/good guy scenario was not really at play. This was not overdone, in my opinion, and it's use & effects on the characters' lives was appealing in that sense. I really enjoyed this book and appreciated its use of a little fantasy to make it stand apart from others in this genre. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be? What about the narrators’s performance did you like?Įach of the narrators did a great job with their respective characters and truly brought them to life. One almost has to respect going to such lengths to hang onto the man she loves so very, very much. Talk about an absorbing backstory and an even better present-day trophy wife come tragic victim come evil genius. ![]() I don't mind being a fan of a villain who shows such diabolically planned-out chaos, and Adele is one of these. ![]() If you could sum up Behind Her Eyes in three words, what would they be? Sarah Pinborough's Behind Her Eyes takes the modern-day love triangle and not only turns it on its head but completely reinvents it in a way that will leave listeners reeling. But Louise can't guess how wrong - and how far a person might go to protect their marriage's secrets. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But then why is David so controlling? And why is Adele so scared of him?Īs Louise is drawn into David and Adele's orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. And if you think you know where this story is going, think again, because Behind Her Eyes is like no other book you've heard before.ĭavid and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife.
